Tegan: *With preparations for the mountainside journey in order, he helped the warriors load the vehicles with their supplies; weapons, ammunition and nourishments for the Breedmates. Getting into one of the Hummers with Elise, he watched as the others climbed into their respective trucks, the Breed communicating with Bluetooth devices*
Gideon: *Following Tegan as our team moves into the night, I listen to the sounds of the evening, my senses reaching out to check for danger as we drive through to the outskirts of town. I know that every warrior in the group is doing the same. Having the breed mates with us in the field, even on this simple mission has all of us more vigilant than usual. With Savannah by my side, her excitement mixing with my slight anxiety making for an interesting state as we travel*
Savannah: *dressed in jeans, a turtleneck and hiking boots she climbed into the vehicle next to her mate and waited to get underway. As the make their way up the mountain she was excited but she could also sense Gideon’s mood and took his hand to reassure him that everything would be just fine*
Elise: *Excited, she watched as they passed out of the city. Seeing the mountain range that had been depicted on Lucan's tapestry in person was more overwhelming that she could have imagined. She was ready to explore the land with Tegan and Micah and see what else this mountain had to reveal.*
Micah: *Tapping his foot impatiently on the Hummer floor as they continued on their journey away from the Darkhaven. Catching his mothers anxious glances at the surrounding landscape, he gently squeezes her hand and smiles, not letting on that, inwardly, he was practically chomping at the bit for some action*
Brock: *Following the caravan along the rugged terrain outside of town, stealing glances at Jenna. My senses are on full alert. This isn't my first rodeo, but my first with her here. Listening to Kade bantering in the back seat with Alexandra, I sense my brother is as tense as I. I'm ready for action, and anticipating what we may find.*
Jenna: *Looking out over the landscape and listening to the chatter fill the vehicle. I'm on edge feeling an odd sense of familiarity as I stare at the mountains. Stealing a glance at my mate, I smile and take a deep breath knowing everything will be fine with him by my side.*
Alex: *Slipping into her boots, she grabs her jacket and starts heading out to meet up with the others, before looking back to Kade saying they are ready to roll. Climbing into the back seat of the hummer, he slides in beside her. Not certain what this journey to the mountain will entail, she is excited to be part of it. Looking over at her mate she knows he’ll be close by*
Kade: *Taking in my surroundings, going over actions and reactions in my head, I try to pinpoint any and every plausible danger that the group may encounter. TakingAlexandra's hand, I kiss the top and smile, not wanting to add to the already anxious atmosphere in the vehicle. Only a matter of time before we'll have to put up or shut up*
Malcolm: *Adjusting my plaid I sheath my broad sword behind me. Grabbing the gear I head up the trail anxious to get this over with. The terrain was ruff and I worried about the Breedmates.* Tegan, I'm going to run ahead and prepare for the descent into the cavern
Tegan: Wait for us, and watch out for any traps. The breedmates are less familiar with this kind of terrain *He assisted his mate with the grooves in the hills, steadying her balance as they ascended up the mountain side*
Gideon: *As we make our ascent up the low slope of the mountain side, I walk in front of my mate, guns in their holsters, dagger at my calf, and my favorite weapon at my waist. I want to dispatch any threat before it can approach her and I’m grateful to have my brother at her back. My pack is weighed down with the equipment I suspect we may need once we reach our destination. The air grows thinner as we hike higher up the mountain side, checking Savannah’s over all status through our bond, I find my mate doing well and dead set on accomplishing her tasks here*
Savannah: *stepping out of the hummer she looks around not really seeing anything but feeling like something is out there. As they make their way up the mountain she takes her time to keep from falling, making sure she is just a few steps behind her mate*
Elise: *Carefully watching her step, their flashlights gave the area an eerie glow as they followed the same route of the mission to find the Ancient's crypt. She stayed close to Tegan, listening and paying attention to the landscape.*
Micah: *Bringing up the rear of the group, he shines his flashlight forward spreading a small halo of pale light along the ground for the Breedmates. Using his own preternatural ability to see in the dark without the aide of a light, he constantly keeps a roaming eye on the landscape, not willing to let any surprises prove him unworthy of his tasks*
Brock: *climbing the rugged terrain, feeling rocks crunch under the heel of my boots as Jenna is tucked safely behind me. The all too familiar terrain reminding me of the danger we once found here. Knowing that her knowledge of the Ancient's memories are giving her an insight that the rest of us don't have, I relax a little knowing she is likely more familiar with this than we are.* Babe, if you find yourself starting to slip, grab onto my belt.
Jenna: *walking behind Brock, the ancient's DNA helping me keep pace. When he glances back, I smile to reassure him that I am ok. As we get closer, the hairs on the back of my neck start to stand up and I get a feeling of uneasiness, grabbing his hand for comfort as we continue.*
Alex: *Exiting the hummer, she takes a long look at the hike ahead. Following in behind the others as we ascend up the mountain, she carefully climbs staying focus on her footing. Using her flashlight to help along the terrain, she senses her mates concern and smiles at him to reassure him that she’s ok*
Kade: *Hiking along the path towards the crypts entrance, I shake my head to ward off the overwhelming sense of dèjá vu. Taking note of everyone's activities around me, a tension rises as we come upon our destination. Anxious glances are passed among the warriors as the entrance comes in sight. Each Breed paying closer attention to his mate, the group spreads out and begins to comb the area for the hidden cave*
Malcolm: *The ground was rocky and started to have a downward turn, the vegetation was thick. I scanned the dark landscape looking for any unusual change that would indicate a cave. Pulling back the brush my feet slip on the rocky slope* Guys I think I found an opening, *looking back* Be careful the ground is soft and there is a lot of shale.
Gideon: *Dropping my pack, I start unloading equipment. Putting the rock penetrating sonar gun to use as we make our way through the cave system. Mal gets busy setting us up with some secured climbing gear and safety harnesses for the breedmates, in case its needed. Working the gun on all of the walls of the cave, we move further inside, slowly, while everyone catches up and makes their way deeper into the cave. . Finding a hollow point in the sonar read out, I direct the team to the deepest area at the back of the cave. Tegan reaches out using his gen one abilities and starts to pull the rock away making a wider opening*
Tegan: *As their footing became steeper and more uneven, he sensed Elise's unease. It was more than just the terrain. There was something in the air, - ancient, powerful, and everyone could feel it. The group had gone incredibly quiet, their breathing and crunching of boots the only sounds. Lifting Elise into his arms, he carried her the rest of the way until they reached steadier ground. He kissed her softly before joining Mal and Gid in the frontline with the removal of blockage in their path*
Savannah: *once the cave was open enough for us to pass through; I grabbed hold of Gideon’s hand suddenly feeling very uneasy, looking round I could see that everyone else was feeling it too*
Elise: *Standing out of the way as the males moved forward and deeper into the cavern, she was nervous about what they might find. There were no voices in her head, the silence was nerve wrecking as the males worked. Only a few more steps to maybe solving the second riddle.*
Micah: Tensions rising, as more and more of the debris is cleared from the opening. Reaching towards a large scale rock, he pulls against it, unable to jar it completely from it's place. Giving another yank, or two, the rock finally comes clear, knocking him to the ground as it rolls over the top of him. Opening his eyes again after removing the rock from himself, he catches his fathers attention and points out what looks to be another, smaller room off the main entrance*
Brock: *Sensing the tension in the air, I squeeze Jenna's hand reassuringly. We don't have the blood bond, but have been together long enough that I can sense her emotions, which are running high right now with anticipation and dread. Looking around and shining the light so that the others can see, I spotlight the entrance to the smaller room.* Here is where we will need to look.
Jenna: *looking around the cave, I stop and smile at Brock when I feel him squeeze my hand. Feeling pulled to the next room, I let go of his hand and walk closer. Once closer, I refocus my gaze and realize there are markings along the wall. Walking up to one, I lightly trace the pattern with my finger. Snapping out of it, when I feel Brock's hand on my shoulder, I look to the rest of the group* We need to take pictures of these and bring it back with us.
Alex: *Hearing Malcolm up ahead that he found an opening and for us to be careful of the slop, she reaches her arms outward for balance. Noticing how quiet it had gotten she started to feel a bit unease. Kade, carefully gripping her arm and taking her by the waist assisted her the rest of the way to the opening. Once inside she admires all the nooks and crannies of the rocks*
Kade: *Once I was sure Alex was safe and steady, I begin surveying the contents inside the cave. Vaults and artifacts of various nature cluttered the place as if it were some sort of holding tomb.*
Tegan: *With the camera he had brought, he took pictures to send back home to Lucan* Be extremely careful with the artifacts. Touch as little as possible. They've been here far longer than we can imagine *He turned to Micah, a questioning glance* Can you send a team out here to package the items and send back to us in the States?
Gideon: *Helping Savannah step into the newly revealed room in the cave structure, Jenna makes herself busy with the aid of Brock, making wax engravings against the walls and sketching the symbols and markings into her journal. Taking in all the scattered items within the chamber, I bend down, choosing a mostly intact piece of pottery. With a reassuring look at my mate, I smile, and hand it to her* Take your time babe, see what you can fathom from this piece*
Savannah: *standing next to Jenna; I look at the drawings on the wall, As I reach out to touch it when my mates comes up to me with a small pot for me to examine. Taking the artifact from Gideon I close my eyes concentrating, letting my ability take hold letting it guild me. Slowly the pictures start to form, a village hut someone working the clay into the pot; as I watch the story unfold I speak telling them as I sees it, when the vision is over she opens her eyes and looks at the group* It’s very old from the time when the Ancients were still alive, I see it being made and being sold but nothing more. That’s it, I really don’t see anything else it feels like there should be more to it but I just don’t know…
Micah: *Listening to Savannah speak, admiring her talent, he looks around the room at the rest of the artifacts. Turning to his father he speaks as he makes a mental note* Not a problem, Dad. I'll have the orders sent out immediately to ship whatever's left of this stuff to you as soon as possible.
Brock: *helping to finish up the last of the rubbings of the symbols on the walls, I roll up the papers carefully, and place them in my backpack. Taking gloves out of my pack, I put them on so as to keep oils and dirt off the artifacts. Removing Jenna's backpack, I take out the cut up pieces of blankets and towels, carefully wrapping the pieces that we will take out with us for closer examination.*
Jenna: *putting my backpack on as we start to head out of the room. I stop and look around again, almost whispering to myself* I've been here before. I know this mountain and this room. I remember standing outside at night looking over the land so long ago. *Looking into Brock's eyes as I sigh* This just doesn't seem real somehow. *Taking his hand, I watch as he kisses my fingers and leads me out*
Alex: *standing back watching as Jenna and Savannah search through the relics and writing along the walls, she continue looking around her surroundings at all the cave and holes. Not wanting to be in the way she sits on a small rock. Leaning to the side she touches something, turning to see what it may be she carefully holds up a small urn and shouts out to the others* Hey, look what I found. Not sure what it is. Can we take it back with the other items?
Kade: *Helping to load the equipment and carefully packed artifacts into the vehicles, I look around as the rest of the team does the same. Opening the door for Alex to climb in, I nod to Brock, signaling everything is on board and ready to go*
Malcolm: *Unbuckling my broad sword I pack it and the rest of the gear into the second Hummer. Putting on my sunglasses as the sun starts to crest the hill I can feel my skin tingling. Sliding into the drivers seat I pop the Hummer into gear and high tail it down the mountain towards Prague, a cloud of dust bellowing behind us*
