{Making Amends} Arrival in Italy

*After an uneventful flight , Mira and Kellan arrived at the Leonardo Da Vinci international airport in Rome, Italy. The terminal was crowded, but they were able to retrieve their suitcases and walk towards the taxi bay. As they waited for the next cab, they saw a black limo heading their way. The window rolled down and a glyphed arm beckoned them to get closer. As they did, they saw the smiling face of Lazaro Archer. * Welcome to Italy, children!

  • Mira Nicholas-Archer Hi, Lazaro!! *I smile at him as I slide onto the soft leather seats of the limo. Kellan follows close behind and sits so close to me I might as well have sat in his lap. There is awkward silence for a few moments as the two breed stare at each other...and I can feel Kellan's nervousness through our bond* So...*I look back and forth at the two of them* whats, new with you, Laz-I mean granddad? *I grab Kellan's hand and pull it into my lap, squeezing it as if to tell him that everything will be okay*

  • Lazaro Archer <The interior of the limo was silent as I looked back and forth between the two of them. Mira had grown even more beautiful as she aged and I couldn't help but feel a hint of pride that she was my grandson's mate.> I am well, Mira. Thank you for asking. <I shifted in my seat, giving myself time to formulate another response> Did you have an enjoyable flight, my dear? <I looked from the breedmate to my grandson. His hazel eyes, an exact copy of his mother's, looked back at me with hints of apprehension, tension and fear. I didn't think I would ever see those eyes looking into mine again. A part of me was gone the day that Lucan told me I lost my only remaining family member. A part that I never thought I could get back...until now.>

  • Kellan Archer *The tension in the limo was so thick you could cut it with a butcher's knife. I saw Granddad looking at me and my mouth went dry. We both were overwhelmed by emotion but at a loss for what to say. Keeping my eyes casted down; out of shame for the suffering I had inflicted in him, I uttered a few almost incoherent words* Hey, Granddad... It's great to see you again...err...thanks for having us at your home... *Unable to say more, I choke on my own words*

  • Mira Nicholas-Archer *Before I can answer Lazaro's question, Kellan blurts out a nervously rambled greeting making it all the more obvious that Kellan's thoughts were 100% on the eight year lie rather than the conversation at hand. I squeezed his Kellan's hand again before answering Lazaro's question* The flight was alright, just very long. *I smiled* I took some really great pictures flying over Rome, I'll have to show them to you later. *Lazaro turned his attention back to me and smiled softly.*

  • Lazaro Archer I would love to. <Diverting my eyes to Kellan's for a moment before they move back to Mira.> I have had the room with the best view set up for your use, I am certain you will enjoy it thoroughly.

  • Mira Nicholas-Archer *The silence and awkward mini-conversations only went on for a few more minutes before I completely snapped* Okay, you two. *Glaring at both of them* I'm sick of the back and forth where everything BUT what needs to be discussed is gone over. So cut the crap you two!

  • Kellan Archer *Even in this screwed up situation, my mate is full of passion, fire and determination. I have to smile at her audacity in telling a gen one like my Granddad to " cut the crap".* Mira is right. I have to own my actions and address what the real issue is. Granddad; if it is alright with you, I would like to have a private conversation at your possible earliest...

  • Lazaro Archer <Chuckling low at her words; the breedmate was as tenacious and fiery as I remembered her.> You my dear, have not changed a bit. <Smiling, I turn my attention toward Kellan and sigh...I was looking for> I agree, we need to speak about the last eight years, we can meet in my den.
