{Making Amends} Calling Laz

*I rested my head on Kellan's shoulder as he disconnected the call with his grandfather. While I couldn't hear the entire conversation, as I sat beside him, I could tell that it was as awkward and uncomfortable as all the other conversations had been since Kellan reappeared...alive and as a former rebel leader.* You okay? *I stated simply, squeezing his hand and wrapping my free arm around his strong bicep*
  • Kellan Archer *He nodded, lost in thought. Kellan didn't like how things stood with his grandfather, but he accepted it as another consequence of his actions eight years ago. What he had surely put his grandfather through weighed considerably on him... Thank God for Mira's unflinching support . Sighing, he kissed his mate's fingers and nodded. The knot on his throat didn't allow him to speak*

  • Mira Nicholas-Archer *He didn't say anything, but he didn't need to. I could feel everything. The hurt, the sadness and most of all the regret.* I'm sorry. *I shift my position so I am sitting on his lap with my arms wrapped comfortingly around him.* I hate this feeling. *I pull back slightly to look at him* I hate that this is how your relationship with him is. I want more for you.

  • Kellan Archer *His mate's slight weight on him, her arms wrapped around him trying to provide comfort and warmth felt like a safe haven...the only thing that he could never do without. Never again.* Mouse, I did this to myself, to us, to everyone that cared for me. Granddad is struggling, as am I, to rebuild the trust and the relationship we once had. Is difficult to do it remotely but we are trying... *kissing her lips softly* We will do it...somehow.

  • Mira Nicholas-Archer *Kissing him back, my lips lingering over his for a few moments* Yes, we will. *I lay my head in the crook of his neck and place my hand on his chest.* We have to. *As I feel his heart beat under my hand my mind floods with ideas on mending this broken relationship* We can make this better...I promise.
