Carys and Aric Celebrate Their Birthday

Carys Chase added 5 new photoscelebrating a birthday with Aric Chase.
* After all the fuss, the obligatory family time with everyone at the compound, I said goodnight to Rune and grabbed my coat. Aric, my beloved twin and I had something special to do. Just him and me. I met him in the garage and with him behind the wheel we drove into the city. In the quiet, I looked at my brother and smiled.* You know. I think we needed this, Bub.

Aric Chase *he chuckled softly* We definitely needed this Sis! Things have been so busy lately at the compound. New orders, new leads, more freaking reports. * he growls low* hate freaking reports.
Anyway, it feels like months since I've seen you! How's things? *they chatted back and forth and caught up as they drove out the south side of the city and into the suburbs. He had happened upon this place during a patrol many years ago and they had been regulars on their birthday for years now. They pulled into the parking place and he grinned over at her* Ready for your favorite?

Carys Chase I am so ready! * Aric got out and came around to open my door for me. I got out and took his arm as we headed inside. Our favorite waitress was there and she hurried over to greet us. Her name was Marge and for an older human she was wonderful. She adored Aric and me. We hugged her and she led us to our table way in the back. I looked around as I took my coat off and sat down.* Cappuccino and chocolate cake, the usual, Marge. Thank you.

Aric Chase *Marge laughed and left without even asking what he wanted, she already knew. The conversation picked back up and they talked about the different people in the restaurant with them. He chuckled and caught his sisters eye as one couples argument was overheard by them both. He leaned toward Carys and whispered* How's he going to talk his way out of that one? Dude done fucked up this time!

Carys Chase Dude ain't gonna get none when they get home either! * Laughing when Marge brought our cake and frothy cups of cappuccino. The kind woman wished us both a happy birthday. Aric kissed her cheek, it made her giggle like a school girl. We thanked her and she left us to enjoy our treats.* I wish we had cake like we did when we were little. You remember, the huge ones Savannah made us.

Aric Chase You mean that 7 layer monstrosity or some shit? *he shuddered when he thought of all that sweet frosting* remember when she would make the ones that looked like characters? Didn't she do a mutant ninja turtle one year, or something like that? I just remember Kade almost dropping it as he carried it across the floor. Now that I think about it, he hasn't been allowed in the kitchen since then, huh? They traded stories back and forth as the stuffed bites of cake in their mouths.*

Carys Chase You know..we are pretty lucky. We had our parents, aunts, uncles. Rafe and Dare..Mira. We had the best parties. Some of my favorite memories involve every member of our family. But now..here in this old cafe, having coffee and cake with you. This is my all time favorite tradition. * I smiled wide * Thanks Bub, for coming up with this, finding this spot. I love it. Happy birthday to you.

Aric Chase *he grinned and toasted her with a fork full of cake* Happy birthday to you Thing 2! The old man actually played nice with Rune tonight, I was impressed honestly. Did you ever think we'd be where we are? You know, back then WHR we were getting cakes made into our favorite heroes. Holy hell! I just remembered when you asked Savannah to make one that looked like uncle Lucan! That was freaking hilarious!!!!

Carys Chase Hey now..I thought uncle Lucan hung the moon when I was little. He was there when dad wasn't and, he let me use markers in his office.* I nodded like it was a big deal.* I think you and I intrigued him and the others. Even the times he scolded us, or lectured us..in his round about way. I always knew he cared. Now that we are grown, I still know. He's proud of us.As proud as our parents and Gaby. *Shaking my head* She was and still is like another mom.

Aric Chase *He nodded* yeah they are. Although he was a hell of a lot easier on you than he ever was on me. You'd get a dirty look and maybe a strong word. His favorite phrase with me was "You're going to learn to straighten up one of these days, Son. So stubborn." As he shook his head and frowned at me. He scared the ever lovin shit out of me until I was almost a teenager! *he scraped his fork across his now empty plate before eying what was left on her plate and looking at her hopefully* are you going to finish that?

Carys Chase * Pushing my plate towards Aric, I had to laugh.* It's a good thing you workout so much. * Aric happily took my plate and finished off the cake that was left.* Yeah, I did have Lucan and most of the other males wrapped around my little finger. One lip quiver and I got away with murder. But now. I have to act like a grown up. *Aric laughed and stacked the now empty plates on top of one another and motioned Marge over." Well, you are grown up sis, mated and everything." I nodded and smiled.* Yeah, and I've only ever been this happy once before. * Aric looked confused, then smiled and at the same time we both said.* The Easy Bake oven..

Aric Chase *he handed his card to Marge as they both burst out laughing. Once he could breath again he looked over at her* you and that Easy Bake Oven! *he shook his head* You were batshit crazy with that thing, always handing out cookies and shit. The dogs got so fat! Remember the lecture from Alexandra? You ended up making her cry! But we were banned from feeding them cookies. *he laughed again, thinking back* we are pretty damn lucky Sis. The old proverb is that it takes a village to raise a child and we are living proof of that. We pulled some crazy ass stunts but we were always safe, relatively so. *he grinned* we have a pretty kick ass village, you've got to admit.

Carys Chase Yes, very lucky. *Marge brought Aric his credit card back and I left her a hefty tip. We hugged her good bye and told her we'd see her soon.Marge was beaming when we left and I heard her "Oh my Lord!" when she went to clean our table. Aric grinned at me over the top of his car. "How much exactly did you leave her?" I shrugged. * A hundred dollar bill, just like last year, and the year before. * Aric chuckled as we climbed inside. "No wonder she loves us!" We laughed and it felt good. With Rune I could be myself and he understood me but, with Aric I could be his twin, goofy and weird, laughing at stupid jokes. There's nothing like the love of family or a mate, BUT the love of a sibling, a twin is a bond only the two of you understand and it is something I will cherish for my entire life.*
