Compound: Kellan asks Mira out

Kellan December 28, 2012   *Getting a texted from Lucan to go out and check the perimeter, I think this would be the perfect time to ask Mira out without it seeming too much like a date. Going in search of her I catch the scent of fresh lilies the air, breathing in deeply I head in the direction of her alluring. As I near the kitchen I take a moment to collect my thoughts*   — with Renata Breed and Niko Breed.

Mira Nicholas-Archer *My dinner finished, I rinse off the plate and place it gently in the sink. Hearing a noise come from behind me, I turn around quickly...my hand ready to grab the knife in my boot* Oh! Kellan! *taking a deep breath as I place my hand on my chest* You startled me a little. *filling in the space between us, I look up as his hazel eyes and smile* What's up?

Kellan Archer *Stopping a bit short when she says I startled her* Hey, Lucan is sending me to go check the perimeter! *Feeling a bit nervous as I think of the right way to ask* And I was wondering if you wanted to come with me? *Smiling at her as she looks at me with surprise*

Mira Nicholas-Archer Really?! *my voice is high and excited, I need to tone it down before he thinks I'm a freak* I... *play it cool Mira!* That would be fun! Let me grab my coat. *As I walk to grab my coat, my heart starts beating fast and my stomach makes flips. Why does this happen when I am near him!?* I'm ready!

Kellan Breed *Hearing the change in her voice I try not to laugh. *That would be very bad* Ok I’m ready too, and I’m glad you are going with me.* Heading to the garage to get the snowmobiles I try to think of something more to say to her when Niko and Renata come out of the training room; stopping short as they both give us a weird look. I look at Mira and then back to Niko trying like hell not to look guilty*

Mira Nicholas-Archer *OMG he's glad I'm going with him!* I'm glad you asked me!! *I have the sudden urge to take his hand, but the sight of Rennie and Niko just outside the garage causes me to pause. Kellan suddenly looks nervous, looking between me and my parents. I look up at him and smile. I touch his arm softly and look up into his eyes* They're harmless. *smiling sweetly, he turns and starts to methodically pull the snowmobile outside. Toward the startled eyes of my parents*

Niko Breed ~ lifting my brow~ Should I ask? ~following them both to garage, Ren following along, her hand in the small of my back as if trying to keep my attention~ Mira Its close to 2 am? ~looking back to Rennie for confirmation, I see Mira touch Kellan's arm and the obvious look she gives him~

Renata Breed ~my eyes wide as I see Mira and Kellan heading outside, I place my hand on the small of my mates back and nod when he looks back at me, I know that our lives don't keep to the clock of humans, but this is still late for her~ and it is still below freezing out ~a full body shakes hits me as I stand there watching Kellan keep pulling out the snow mobiles~ Mira you and i can go out in the morning if you still want...~seeing the tightening around Niko's mouth I try to distract him from seeing Mira stiffen and move closer to Kellan~

Kellan Archer *pulling one of the snowmobiles out and then going for the other one, I stop when Niko comes over to us. I stop when Renata tells Mira that they can go out in the morning, I look to Mira and she gives me a smile and a shake of her head letting me know that she is going to go with me. Thinking it’s better if I keep quiet for a minute to see how it plays out I just stand there looking at Mira*

Mira Nicholas-Archer *stepping away from Kellan, toward Rennie and Niko* Please let me go, please, please, please!! *letting my lower lip quiver and my eyes fill with tears, hoping that changes their mind* I really want to go, I promise we will come right back in and I won't stay out too late! Pleeeaase!

Niko Breed ~placing my hands on my hips waiting for one of them to really explain what's up~ since I can already see Mira is not going to change her mind about going, Kellan? Is this necessary? ~thinking for safety maybe they should take just one Snowmobile, his reflexes being Breed would keep them safer than Mira's in the dark. Changing teenagers minds was nearly hard as changing Lucan Thorne's, I chuckle to myself~ Well? ~Kellan didn't seem to want to answer, I start to step toward him and he finally responds~

Renata Breed ~bites my lip seeing Mira start to tear up, wanting to let her be a grownup I nearly smile when Niko steps forward, his body more relaxed meaning that he will let her go, but I wonder now what is on his mind, I know that for us, if we were to go, one snow mobile would be enough, I look between both Kellan and Niko, reaching out I pull Mira to the side~ better be safe than sorry...

Kellan Archer *Seeing the tears in Mira’s eyes has a strange affect on me but I don’t want things to get worse, so I hold back* I’m was just going out to check the perimeter on Lucan’s orders and I thought Mira could come along as part of her training. We won't be gone long and I won't let anything happen to her!

Niko Breed Lucan's orders huh? ~looks at his waist and boots, up and down~ No weapon? ~reaches behind me and hands him my 9~ You are now a two steps from Warrior, you need to be armed all the time.. Understand? I expect that cleaned and returned. She ~points to Mira~ rides behind you. IF you let anything hurt her, including you. You don't even need to come back? Got it?

Mira Nicholas-Archer *grabbing Rennie's arm* Please, Rennie...I promise nothing will happen to me. Kellan is a breed and he's big and strong, plus I've been training and I have my blade in my boot! Pleeease let me go!! *I look over at Kellan and hope he doesn't change his mind. God this is embarrassing*

Renata Breed ~looking down at where she grabs my arm, I try to hold back my smile, I am glad that she has chosen Kellan, but I wish that they could have waited a little longer, I blink my eyes and blank my face when I look back up at her~ I know you have been training and I want you to do exactly what Kellan says if there is any danger...do you understand? if he says run you run and don't look back, you have your phone? ~seeing her nod I nod back~ you are to only ride behind him and come back, no staying out to long or I will come looking for you...~crosses my arms over my chest~ or Kellan will not like me in the morning...

Kellan Archer *Taking the 9mm from Niko I check the safety and place it at my back, I look at him when he tells me that Mira will be riding with me instead of taking out two snowmobiles. Nodding at his instructions * Nothing will happen to her you have my word!

Mira Nicholas-Archer *Nodding to Rennie, I give her a quick hug before I make my way back over to Kellan and Niko.* I promise Rennie. *I turn toward Kellan and Niko, my heart beating faster at the thought of riding behind Kellan in the snowmobile, seriously surprised that Niko was actually allowing us to be that close to each other. I look up at Kellan and give him a omg-i-am-sorry-my-parents-are-so-weird look*

Niko Breed ~Lifting a brow, at how eager Mira really is. Kellan keep his cool demeanor in check. He will make a great Warrior, if he ever overcomes the past.~ Mouse you keep an eye out, assist Kellan in his patrol.. Don't distract him. I will give you guys 2 hours max, then I'll be the one to come looking.. ~gives them both a look~

Renata Breed ~moves back over and signals Mira behind Niko's back that I am giving them three, smiling I lay my hand on my mates arm I start to pull him away~ Remember what I said Mira ~grins~ come on baby, you being all macho has gotten to me something fierce ~giving the kids a wink then a glare to remind them to keep their hands to themselves I pull Niko back to the house~

Kellan Archer *Getting on the snowmobile and starting it I smile when Ren winks at us* Come on mouse we don’t have much time, Niko wants us back in two hours. *Giving Mira a wink*

Niko Breed *grinning down at my mate, I listen as Mira and Kellan prepare to leave, my breed hearing trying to pick up on anything, the worried father in me, hoping I don't. Kellan being older, had better be the voice of reason. I didn't doubt for one second, Mira would do as he instructed. But I know How my mate distracts me, just like she was doing right now. My Mate? Mira mate? WTF! I start to turn back and Ren's grip tells me, to let them go. I grind my teeth, Mira's smart she can handle him. It was me that was going to have hard time handling this.~

Mira Nicholas-Archer *smiling wide, I take his hand and let him help me climb onto the snow machine, into the seat behind him. His body is so close to me, I can feel his body heat and the smell of him causes my stomach to do spin.* Sorry my parents are so protective. * He shrugs and tells me it's no big deal and to hold on tight. Nervously, I wrap my arms around his waist, locking my hands together and pulling my body against his. It feels good to be this close to him and all the girly nervousness melts away. Thoughts of how much I like him rush through my head and I press my face against his back and try to commit this moment to my memory. He revs the engine, waves to my parents and drives off into the darkness.*

Dante Malebranche *just preparing to spend the evening with Tess and Rafe for his Birthday, my phone explodes. Reading the directive, I kiss them both and head down to the lab. The others already gathered none to thrilled to be here either. I saunter in and lean against the nearest wall to Lucan.* What Up Boss man? I hope this is important or my Mate is going to have my hide.

Lucan Thorne *looking around the room meeting each of his warriors in the eyes* We need to find out what the situation with the female gen One is heading, I want to know how far we have come in the search for her and that Breed male who tracked her down.

Gideon Breed As my computer spits out the latest coordinates from the tracking program I have designed, I tell my brothers that we may have a lead on the location Diabolus is suspected to have been in the last two weeks, by reversing the tracking signal he had on Satora I was able to locate an address, but the signal has since gone dead*

Hunter GenOne *Listening with rapt attention* I will check it out. Dante? Kade? You with me? We could use Niko in on this too.

Kade Breed *Giving a nod* I'm in. We need to take this asshole down *cracks my knuckles, thinking of Diabolus' face*

Dante Malebranche *glaring over at Tegan and his secret shit. It was all leg work and he knew it* Yeah H, I am in, and I know Niko wants in.. {Christmas 2012} Compound

Gabrielle Maxwell Thorne ‎*Getting all the goodies together for her sisters to enjoy as we decorate the tree inside the living area of the compound she looks to Savannah and smiles* This Christmas is going to be so special with the kids...Dare has been playing in the tinsel all day...*Gathering up all the goodies Savvy made they head to the living area*

Savannah Breed *Looking at the kids run around and plays as Gabrielle and I get the food together* Yes it is Gabby I love this time of year!

Gideon Breed  *bringing in my special addition for the tree, I drop the box of fiber optic lights shaped like vampire teeth on the table, grinning as I hear the moans from my family at my "pun intended" lights*

Lucan Thorne  *Standing in the back of the room, watching as Gabrielle happily gathers the family to trim the tree and generally spend some time together. His eyes travel back and forth between his mate and Dare, chuckling at Gideon and his ridiculous lights*

Tegan GenOne  *coming into the living room with Micah walking at his heels, he slowed to stand next to Lucan as Micah hurried to join the other kids* Sup everyone? Christmas eh? Who knew!

Kade Breed  *Walking into the living room with Alexandra, hand in hand. We look around at the kids playing. I burst out laughing at Gid's lights* Come on baby, we have some celebrating to do. *Calling out a HEY to our family*

Alexandra Maguire   *As we walk in I see the children at play and look around at the others as they surround the tree adding the light and ornament, I wave to Gabby* You've done a beautiful job

Elise Chase *Following Micah to the tree, she sat on the floor and started looking through the ornaments smiling at the memories they brought. Catching him before he tries to climb the tree, she points at the lights.* Do you like the lights, little man?

Nathan Bishop  -I slipped in the back of the room and leaned against the wall, watching the little ones running around amazed by the lights. Not seeing Mira yet I wondered what could be keeping her, this was one of her favorite holidays.-

Savannah Breed  *Coming back into the living room with two big bowls of popcorn and some needles and thread I walk over to where Gideon is sitting* Hey babe do you mind helping me with this?

Gideon Breed   *stretching out my legs, so that Savannah has the most comfortable position, I reach into the bowl and start to help her string the popcorn, stopping to grin at her and pop some into her mouth*

Lucan Thorne   *Still standing with his brothers, deep in conversation when he catches Gabrielle's gaze, with no more than a grunt to his warriors, he makes his way to her, wrapping his arms around her waist and nuzzling into her neck*

Tegan GenOne  *arcing a brow as Lucan left him in the middle of conversation, he decided to take a hint and join his mate. Planting a kiss on her brow, he chuckled as she asked him to play some music* You sure they'll like my taste? *Mentally turning on the stereo, he smirked as the kids started headbanging to the heavy metal* oops? *He switched to the christmas station*

Kade Breed   *Alex walks up behind me, wrapping her arms around my waist. I turn around and the same to her. I see the twinkle in her eyes and I lean down and kiss her* Want to help put up some ornaments? We shouldn't let Gid have all the fun over there. *giving her a wink, I pull her over to the box and we both select one*

Alexandra Maguire  *Wrapping my arms around Kade returning his kiss, I reach for the box of ornaments inserting the wire then hanging them up one at a time. Laughing at how much fun the family is having*

Elise Chase   *After Micah picked his ornament, she helped him hang it as high as he could reach.* Maybe next time you can get on Daddy's shoulders and hang one up there. *Laughing as he started pointing to the top of the tree, she stood back as Tavia and Sterling took the twins up to the tree and hung their ornaments.*

Nathan Bishop  -Hearing footsteps out in the hall, I barely moved out of the way of Connor running into the room and flipping into the middle of the crowd. Danika and Malcolm were hot on his heels laughing. He was finally understanding the draw of Christmastime.-

Kellan Archer   *As I look at the tree I wonder were Mira is and when she will get here; seeing Dare get up out of the corner of my eye. I turn watch him walk over to the boxes of ornaments and pick one up then tries to place it on a branch. Seeing it slip from his hands I move quickly to catch it before it falls; then bending down I help him put it on the tree*

Hunter GenOne  *Corinne pulls me to the tree, handing an ornament to me. Kellan catches the tree just in time as he helps Dare. We place both of our ornaments side by side. I give Nathan a reassuring nod as we are walking away from the tree. I whisper to Cory that he looks uncomfortable. She leaves my side to go talk to him*

Tess Malebranche   ~chuckling as Rafe moves to pick out a few ornaments, getting a cup of punch I move forward as he nearly falls over from standing on his toes, shaking my head as he glares at me, I smile watching Kellan helping Dare, getting some tinsel I move over and hand it to Rafe after he puts up his last ornament, he smiles wide then throws some of it on me~ Rafe! ~giggles as I feel my mates arms around me~

Gabrielle Maxwell Thorne   *watching as Kellan helps Dare with the bulbs I steel a moment with my mate and drag him over to the mistletoe....Planting a loving Christmas kiss on his lips I whisper* Look Lucan..Look at our family..we are so blessed...

Savannah Breed  *After stringing the popcorn I smile at Gid giving him a kiss* Hey how about we let the little one help out put this popcorn on the tree?

Renata Breed   ~storing the last of the blades in my locker I look over at Mira and see that she is dancing from foot to foot~ In a hurry for something? ~chuckles smelling the cookies and chocolate coming from the front of the house, grabbing her hand when she nearly pulls me out the door I hear the christmas music start~ Hey Mouse slow down...~stopping in the doorway I smile seeing everyone here, I sigh when i feel my mates arms surround me~ Great tree babes ~he grunts and mumbles~ (it will be better when I do what I want) ~smiling knowing that he will give it his touch later~

Mira Nicholas   Rennie we are going to miss it!!! *frantically grabbing her hand and pulling her down the hallway* I knew we shouldn't have done that last lap!! *rushing into the room I shout!* I'm here, I'm here!! *letting go of Rennie's name, I make my way into the room and over to the tree* Oh it's so perfect! *my eyes sweep the room and my cheeks begins to heat when I see Kellan smirking across the room*

Gideon Breed  *smiling at Savannah as she holds our popcorn strings, the streaking ball of energy that is Mira flies by us, vibrating with excitement. Reaching over to Tess , I take a tinsel covered Rafe from her arms, as Savy takes Dare's hand and Malcolm steps forward with Connor, helping them all hang the popcorn garland*

Lucan Thorne  *Standing under the mistletoe, his mate pressed up against him, he watches as the family comes together, sharing in tradition, bonded by love and blood*

Tegan GenOne  *He pulled his mate into his arms as Micah joined them and the family, the warriors and their breedmates and children surrounded the tree. It was their first Christmas with all the newborns. And even though it was a human tradition, it felt good to celebrate a family moment* Merry Christmas to you all!

Kade Breed  *Standing away from the tree, Alex in my arms. We wait for the last touches to go onto the tree.* Merry Christmas everyone.

Alexandra Maguire   *Feeling the love of all now surrounding the tree I smile as Kade holds me close* Merry Christmas everyone

Kellan Archer  *watching as Savannah, Gideon, and Malcolm help the kids put the popcorn tinsel on the tree and trying to pretend that Mira is not in the room. I slowly move away from the tree and go back to my corner and I try not to stare at her*

Hunter GenOne   *Watching the festivities. I look over at Dante, playing with his son Rafe. A ping of longing floats through me as I squeeze Corinne's hand. She smiles at me in understanding. She wishes everyone a Merry Christmas from the both of us*

Tess Malebranche  ~smiles as Dante takes Rafe from Gid's arms, i shake my head and pick the tinsel off my shirt, I move over and wrap my arms around them both~ Merry Christmas my Warriors ~my heart full of love and joy that we have this time together, things could have been so different...but we are together~

Renata Breed  ~moving over to the tree I lean heavy against my Mate, loving everyone in the room right now I am grateful we are together~ Merry Christmas babes ~looking up I see the mistletoe and pull him down for a kiss, blushing lightly, pulling away I grab the last ornament and place it on the tree~

Mira Nicholas  *Walking slowly around the tree, I inspect its "Christmas spirit" while simultaneously failing at trying to avoid Kellan's gaze.* Hmmm... *stopping in front of a box of ornaments* It's missing just ONE thing. *I find the final piece at the bottom of the box and gently lift it in my hands* Lucan? *looking up at him* You wanna help a breedmate out? *He takes a step forward, lifts me up onto his shoulders, and walks closer to the tree. I lean forward and carefully place the sparkling star on the top of the tree* Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!

Compound: Savy teaches Hunter to Cook

Hunter GenOne  December 4, 2012   *Pushing through the doors to the kitchen, I see Savannah waiting. She smiles and I give her a nod* Thank you for helping me with this.. *I hand her the recipe that I printed from the computer* Corinne loves this, so I want to learn to prepare it for her.

Savannah Dupree *Sitting at the kitchen table making a list of what I want to cook for our Christmas dinner; and making the list of the groceries we will need. Not really paying attention to my surroundings when I looks and see Hunter standing across from me. I smile as he tells me how grateful he is for my help, taking the recipe from him to look at the ingredients * I’m glad to help you with this and it’s a very easy recipe and it won’t take long at all.

Hunter GenOne *I follow her to the counter and watch as she starts pulling ingredients out. She instructs me to get the eggs from the refrigerator. Doing as she asks, I set them on the counter. She starts cracking them into a bowl. I grimace at the slimy things in the bowl*

Savannah Dupree *Giggling as Hunter makes a face when I put the eggs in the bowl* it’s really not that bad and they taste really good when they are cooked. *Handing him the bowl I tell him to look at the recipe and do what it says. He gives me a smirk and I laugh* This is really the only way you will learn, that is if you want to tell her that you were the one that cooked it for her! *He takes the bowl and goes over the recipe as I stand next to him showing him the tools of my craft making sure he puts the right amounts in*

Hunter GenOne *Taking a deep breath as I read over the recipe and carefully measure out the ingredients and place them in the bowl with the slimy eggs. Frowning in distaste, I take the wire implement, called a whisk, and begin beating the eggs. Forgetting my strength, some of the mixture ends up on the counter* I'm assuming this concoction should remain in the bowl? *looking at Savvy as she tries unsuccessfully not to laugh. She cleans up the mess and adds in another couple of eggs and adjusts the ingredients for me*

Savannah Dupree *Trying to hold back my laughter as I add more ingredients to the bowl* Yes it should stay in the bowl, but you’re doing very well so far; Now for the hard part. *getting a frying pan and some butter I hand them to him and smile as he looks at me in confusion*

Hunter GenOne *I can do this, I can do this... a running mantra in my head as she hands me the pan. I swallow audibly as I put the pan on the stove. She turns the burner on and I add in a chunk of butter. I look over at Savvy and she nods as she pulls out slices of bread and begins dipping them in the slimy egg concoction. I wonder to myself..do Breeds puke?* What now?

Savannah Dupree Hunter your beginning to turn green, calm down, it’s ok you can do this. Just take a deep breath and remember you’re doing this for Corinne and she is going to love you even more. *Placing the two pieces of bread in the pan I get the spatula and show him how to check and see if it’s ready to be flipped*

Hunter GenOne *I nod at her and watch closely as she continues to instruct me. I watch the slices of bread in the pan very closely and maneuver the spatula under one slice and flip it over, part of it landing on the side of the pan. I quickly move it down and flip the other one over, doing a much better job of it* I do believe hunting Rogues is easier than cooking, Savvy.

Savannah Dupree *Watching as he flips the bread on the side of the pan and then moves it back again* I think you’re doing a fantastic job; and I think hunting is very hard *Getting a plate and placing it next to the stove I watch as he checks to make sure the French Toast is ready to come out of the pan* Ok now you can do two more and you will be done.

Hunter GenOne *Places the two cooked slices on the plate, I take a deep breath, grimacing as I soak the last two slices in the slimy mixture and place them into the pan, dripping egg mixture onto the counter and stove. I scowl at that as Savvy takes a towel and wipes it up* Hunting is easy, but I do believe that I could make this on my own next time. *I watch the two slices in the pan, flipping them over as they get done on one side*

Savannah Dupree If you tell me hunting is easy I believe you and when I tell you cooking is easy I hope you believe me. And you didn’t even burn anything so I think you will be able to cook this by yourself. * Getting a serving tray and a vase for a rose that I got for him, I grab a cup of coffee and a glass of juice and place them on the tray* Ok, now all you need is a napkin, a knife and fork.

Hunter GenOne *I smile at her, leaning over and giving her a chaste kiss* Thank you, Savvy. I will come back and clean all of this up after I deliver the tray to Corinne *I finish placing the last two cooked slices on the plate as she takes it and sets it on the tray. I take the tray and make my way to mine and Cory's living quarters*
