Kade Breed September 16,
2013 *Scanning the radio and internet surveillance gear in Gideon's tech lab, my
attention is drawn to a video feed of a loading dock from somewhere in the
Dome. Watching as a large, unmarked, box truck pulls out to move down the
street, I quickly jump up and grab my keys. Bolting towards the elevator I
shoot off an emergency txt to Hunter, Aric, and Niko telling them to
get their asses topside with me, we had something hot*
Hunter GenOne *Grabbing my gear, I kiss Corinne goodbye and head out of the room. Moving quickly through the compound, I reach the SUV* Where the fire man? What's going on?
Aric Chase *getting
the text from Kade I grab my duffle bag and head for the elevator.
Excited to be able to get out of the compound. Meeting up with Niko at
the elevator we wait for it to open.*What do you think is going on?
Niko Breed *Shrugging
my shoulders at Aric.* Who the hell knows with Kade.
All I know is it better be good to have pulled me away from Renata. *We exit the elevator and I see that the gang's all here.* Better be good man.
Kade Breed Fuckin A Right it's good, now get your ass in the damn SUV cause you ain't pretty enough to hitchhike *grinning as I jump in the driver's seat, wait just long enough to hear the other three doors slam and burn tire out of the compound garage* SO here's what's p. I was watchin the feed and we got a box truck leaving the Dome. I'm thinking, what the FUCK could they be moving at 3 in the damn morning?
Hunter GenOne It
could be the stuff from the new store. He knows we've been there. Mira and
I overheard him requesting more security last night when we were on patrol.
*Hitting the highway, Kade drove like a bat out of hell, getting us downtown
quickly*
Aric Chase *hanging
on as Kade drives
us closer to the Dome I reach with my free hand for my bag and start loading
extra clips and some daggers onto my belt and in my pockets*I'm ready!
Niko Breed *Rolling
my neck to the left and right getting the kinks worked out. Looking over
at Aric as he loads up.* You look a little light there man. I think maybe you could use a few of my special grenades. "Yeah you got some more made up?" Come on man...I never leave home without some. Here take this one. I'll start you off easy. *Leaning over the front of the seat.* So Kade what else do we know man?
Kade Breed *watching the weapons exchange through the rearview mirror* Easy there, Champ. You let him load you down with ALL his shit and he ends up going hand to hand with a broken vodka bottle. *Turning the SUV onto the main highway* We know the truck left the Dome around 3 AM, it's unmarked and a large enough size to house something significant. If Hunter is
accurate with what he and Mira hear last night I imagine it could be filled with
some of those artifacts like we brought back from Prague.
Hunter GenOne *Tracking
the truck, Kade got
closer. As it moved, we moved. It darted around, bypassing the small amount of
traffic on the road* Damn, for as big as the truck is, it can move *The truck
weaved in and out of the lanes. Putting down the window, I moved up in the seat
to hang out. Kade sped up, getting closer to the truck. Grabbing onto the back,
I pulled myself out and onto the back of the truck. Moving over, Niko climbed
out next to me. Scaling the truck, we moved along to the cab, while Kade
dropped back into traffic.*
Aric Chase *Watching
as Hunter and Niko climb
the back of the truck I load my clips with Niko's special hardware. Moving up
to the front seat I get ready to back them up if I am needed.*Kade,
don't you think you should be closer Bro?
Niko Breed *Looking
over my shoulder as Kade moved in behind us. Not wanting to cause too much
trouble with all these humans still close by. Just as we make our way closer to
the cab the driver swerves causing us to have to fall down on the top of the
truck.* Fuck bro take him out already! Let's get this done. *Waving my hand at
Kade motioning for him to get closer.*
Kade Breed
*Speeding up as I see Niko moving around like one of those wacky, wavy, inflatable arm-flaily tube men, I cock my head sideways and yell out the window* Niko, you idiot, now's not the time to be twerking like Miley Cyrus. Get your ass grounded on that truck, Bro. *shaking my head as I move the SUV alongside the tail corner of the truck* Champ, you're on bounce patrol. If one of their asses hits the pavement at 90 MPH, you yell "bounce" so I can swerve.
Hunter GenOne *Getting
flat on the truck as it starts to swerve, I slide down to the passenger window.
Swinging out, I smash the window sliding inside, the driver screams* ~ WHO THE
FUCK ARE YOU?? GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY TRUCK~ Yeah, about that. No *Seeing Niko at
the driver's window, I grab the wheel as the window shatters.*
Aric Chase Standing
on the passenger's seat leaning out the sunroof I see Hunter
head for the passenger side while Niko goes for the driver's side of the cab I yell out as the truck swerves again*Hang on, he is trying to throw you! *Pulling my gun out I try aiming for a tire but there is just no good shot from there. Yelling into the truck*Kade, this shit is getting hairy!
Niko Breed *Gettin in and getting comfy as I take in the look of the human's face. All wide eyed and shocked.* What you didn't tell him that there was a change in drivers? What the hell bro?! *Turning to the guy.* See my bro here has no home training. We're taking over this truck. So sit back and relax. Where the hell is Kade?
What is he driving Ms. Daisy?
Kade Breed *Pulling
up alongside the cab, glancing through my window to check the progress in the
box truck as Champ lifts himself farther out the sunroof. I keep the SUV tight
alongside the truck, expecting to see the worst when I find myself doing a
double take to confirm that Hunter's dumb ass was indeed staring out the window
waving at me like a toddle on a road trip. Shaking my head I mumble to myself*
Damn, does that guy ever smile? *Turning my attention back to the road I stare
in horror as the drawbridge gates in front of us come down and the road starts
to lift. There's little we can do at 90 MPH but I honk the horn repeatedly and
receive an adrenalin fueled smirk from Niko.*
Oh SHIT, Champ, get your ass in here, make sure your seat is in full upright
position and your tray table is locked into place. Fasten that seatbelt and in
case of emergency, put your head between your knees and kiss your ass goodbye.
We're going airborne!.
Hunter GenOne *Seeing the draw bridge up head, I knew we were taking it head on. Grabbing the driver, I shook my head.* Better if you don't see this. We don't need your dumb ass getting us killed. *Knocking the guy out, I drop him in a heap between the seats. Looking at the dash, I watch the speed race past 100 mph.* Go big or go home right?? *Grabbing the "oh shit* handle, I watch the edge of the bridge get closer.*
Aric Chase *Watching
the truck I hear Kade yelling something to me. I lean my head in the sunroof*What the hell did you say? Do you have any idea how hard it is to hear you when you are doin' 100mph?*looking upside down through the windshield I see the gates to the draw bridge go flying as Niko smashes through them a split second before us*OH FUCK! *Dropping into the SUV I grab hold of anything I can trying to keep my ass in the seat. Watching the speedometer pass 100 I roll my eyes at the wicked smile on Kade's face*Oh shit, I am gonna die tonight!
Niko Breed *Damn
this isn't gonna be pretty.* Hold on to your undies Hunter we're
going airborne. *I hear him let out a string of curses.* Damn I feel like we're
those two country boys The Dukes of Hazard. *Crashing through the gates as the
road starts to go up. Slamming down on the gas pedal and we're off. Sailing
over the top.* YEEEEEEE HAAAWWWW!
Kade Breed *Pressing
the pedal almost clear through the floor of the SUV I watch out of the corner
of my eyes as Niko launches
the box truck over the gap in the bridge. Following him off the edge into a few
split seconds of complete weightlessness, all I can hear is Bomb Boy's voice
filling the air with a "Yee Haw" Bursting into laughter* That crazy
ass mother fucker.
Hunter GenOne *Hitting
the edge of the bridge, the truck sailed through the air. Slamming down on the
other side, Niko hit
the gas as the truck spun out of control. Hearing another crash, I knew Kade and Aric made
it across.* Fuck.. That's gonna leave a mark.
Aric Chase *as
our tires slam to the ground I lose my seat and barely get my arms in front of
my face before smashing through the windshield and the rear doors of the truck.
Landing on a pile of boxes I groan*Oh damn.
Niko Breed Getting
control of the wheel as I bring the truck to a stop. Hearing a loud crash in
the back I turn to Hunter with a what the hell look on my face. We both get
out and go to the back and we see Aric covered in boxes and white shit all over him. Leaning in to get a better look I bust out laughing.* Dude...um...get a little carried away man. Damn learn to keep it in your pants. We're on an assignment for heaven's sake. "HAHA man just help me the fuck outta here." *Hunter gets him out and I start to gather some of the ones that aren't messed up to take back to the other breedmates.*
Kade Breed *Jumping
out of the SUV once it finally stops, I book it to the back of the truck where
I find Niko laughing
his ass off at a cream covered Aric*
DUDE, TWINKIES?! All THAT for fucking Twinkies? Lucan's
going to stomp my ass so hard his tread will be in my throat.
Aric Chase *Packing
up the undamaged boxes I throw the rest of them at Hunter,
Niko,
and Kade.* Renata will
LOVE these Niko!
