Aine and Meison Reminisce (#Christmas16 Day 12)

#Christmas16 Day 12
*Setting the box of breakable ornaments down on the coffee table, pointing to the empty space beside the tree* Just place the totes right there. Thank you both for helping. *Opening each tote, I pull out the lights and the angel and the tree skirt. Taking out the special box I had wrapped in the middle of the tote. Lifting the top off, I carefully unwrap each ornament. Smiling as I gently run my fingers over each one. These were some of my most treasured memories. All ornaments that my mother had made when I was a child* Oh momma. *Sighs* Christmas just isn't the same without you.

Meison Declain *I silently stood in the doorway and watched Aine as she touched each ornament. I could almost read her thoughts. I missed Elizabeth more than I could ever express as well. I took a step further in the room.* Would you like some company?

Aine Declain *Looking up, a smile brightening my face* Hello father. When did you get back? *Hands him a strand of lights* And I would love your help. *Starts to wrap the lights around the large tree* Do you remember when I used to get tangled in the lights?

Meison Declain Just this evening, darling girl. Of course I remember. I'm the one who had to untangle you and the lights. Prelit trees were invented because of you. *I took a strand and wound it through the branches of the tree.* You know this is my least favorite part?

Aine Declain *Laughs at the memory of trying to stand still while being untangled from the strands.* I know. Momma was the one who always did the lights. She would spend hours fixing them just right and wouldn't let us do the ornaments until she was sure they were all perfect. *Walks around behind him, unraveling the lights as we wind round and round the tree*

Meison Declain *I finish with the strand she handed me and quickly went to the dry bar in the corner and fix a drink.* Yes, I don't have the patience for it so the one strand is my contribution. What are your plans for the holidays?

Aine Declain *Shakes my head and bends down to plug the lights in. Starting with momma's ornaments, I place each one from the green limbs* Umm...nothing much. Some charity events with Dia. *A knock on the door saves me from having to explain further. Walking over to answer it, biting my lip as Dia's computer geek stands before me* "Miss Aine, I have the information on the charities that you requested. Just the ones that Mrs. Dupree aided in the past." *Smiling, I thank him, slip the paper into my pocket and hurry back to work on the tree*

Meison Declain *Watching her get the door, I decide to not get involved with her charity search, yet.* Do not forget he is Breed. I do not trust him.

Aine Declain *Shakes my head and laughs* Oh father, you worry too much. Dia is like an over grown pussy cat. He's almost as gentle as Minion and Moo. *Smiles and tries to concentrate on the tree and not the uneasy feeling in my gut at what was soon to come* Will you put Momma's angel on top for me, please?

Meison Declain *Taking the angel out of the box that Aine has meticulously kept her safe in, I close my eyes, the memories of Elizabeth too strong to deny. They flash through my mind in a moment of weakness of my defenses down. My pain is masked, and turns to the more familiar anger. I will avenge her before I leave this life. I place the angel atop the tree then step back. Kissing Aine quickly on the top of the head, I make my excuses and head out to escape my memories.* Love you, daughter mine.

Aine Declain Love you too daddy. *Watches as he hurries from the room. Waiting until he was gone before sinking to my knees at the foot of the tree. My head in my hands as I start to cry. Knowing the pain that he tries so hard to hide from me. Wishing that he would move on from it all, but knowing that the loss of your mate was the worst thing anyone could ever go through.*

{Colliding Paths} The Collision

*The plane starts its descent and I regret not taking the controls. Some fuck up was learning to fly on my dime and it wouldn't happen again. I turn my phone on and a simple text assures me that he will no longer be of concern. Out the window, I can see the Dome. I should have warned Aineof my arrival but I liked the element of surprise.*
Elise Chase *Sitting in their quarters, her mind turned to the next holiday and her thoughts immediately thought of Rennie and Nova. The most recent mother-to-be's for The Order. She knew both of them were already well stocked with supplies for their future sons but it was the ladies themselves that had her attention. Making her mind up that she needed a trip out, she gathered her keys and purse then left a note for Tegan that she would be back shortly.*
Meison Declain *My brow furrowed in distaste after the landing, I quickly leave the jet behind and settle into the black SUV I had ordered for delivery while in flight. The vehicle responds to my touch like I need and the pilot is forgotten as I make my way to the Dome. I wonder if Dia will be holed up, hiding from the sun upon my arrival.*
Elise Chase *Finding a parking place takes more time than she had planned. She finally parks across the shopping center from where she needs to go. Dreading walking through the crowd now, she takes a deep breath and centers herself, finding the thoughts of the least evil voice she could.as T had taught her to do. She briefly thought of turning around but then decided to go on about her errand. Grabbing her purse, she quickly made her way into the Dome.*
Meison Declain *Intent on catching up on everything as soon possible, my eyes flicker over all of the open businesses and the bustling crowd. Stupid little humans, milling about like ants. I smirk thinking about standing in the middle of them all and revealing my true self. I can't help but chuckle as I think of the reactions.*
Elise Chase *Just a few steps inside the building, her temples pound and a voice overrides everything else. Laughter, but not the fun kind. Descriptions of a blood bath flood her head and she stops walking. Holding her head, she closes her eyes and looks down trying desperately to refocus. People bump into her and she blindly moves to the edge of the crowd until she runs into a man. As he catches her elbow, the thoughts stop immediately.*
Meison Declain Fuck *As soon as I touch the woman, I know what she is. The scent should have warned me but I had been preoccupied. I look at her closer and realize she is one of the mates of the order. I briefly entertain the thought of taking her, like we had done with that ex-enforcement agent,Mathias.*
Elise Chase *Her heart rate spiked when she looked up at the man and heard his exclamation. Shaking her head, she tried to pull her arm out of his grasp. His hold tightened and she knew the fear streaming through her would have already alerted Tegan. Pulling again, he let her go but the absence of his thoughts alerted her that he was more than just human. In fact, he had silenced all the surrounding thoughts too. Curiosity edged at her but safety was more important and she took a step back.*
Meison Declain *I chuckled at the frightened female and took a step forward before deciding to let her go. I had other plans that held my immediate attention but I made a note to find out more information on her. I lean forward and whisper near her ear.* Run, delicia, before I change my mind
Elise Chase *Blinking, she took his offer and moved away from him, letting the crowd swallow her up. She turned, her errand forgotten, as she made haste back to her car. Locking the doors even though she knew it wouldn't be a deterrent for him, gave her a small sense of security. Her heart was still pounding while she made her way back to the compound, knowing that she would need to give a detailed account of what happened, she attempted to replay everything in her head. But she had touched evil. Her hands shook as she made her way back to the one person who could erase it.*

{Christmas 2015} Merry Christmas Daddy

*Walking down the stairs, the silence of the apartment making my heart hurt. Kneeling in front of the tree, looking up at the twinkling lights. The colors start to blur as my eyes fill with tears* Merry Christmas Daddy...

TB: Aine's Christmas Memory

TB-
*Stretching as I wake up, the sun not even lighting the sky yet. Letting out a deep sigh as I throw back the blankets and get up. Pulling on a pair of fuzzy socks, I quietly walk from my room, going downstairs. Standing on the stairs, looking at all the gifts surrounding the tree. Looking all around the room, knowing that the gift I truly want to be there isn't, but checking all the same. Feeling a hand touch my shoulder, I look up to see our housekeeper standing there, her eyes full of love and sorrow for me* "You know she isn't here, Little One. But that doesn't mean she isn't watching. She loved seeing how happy you always are on Christmas morning." *Pushing my hair behind my ear, she smiles and pats my back* "Go on upstairs and wake your father. It's something he loves and expects every Christmas" *Nodding, I wipe the tears from my cheeks and hurry upstairs.*
*Pausing to take a deep breath before pushing the door to his room open. Pasting a huge smile on my face, I rush in, climb up onto his bed and start to bounce and yell* Wake up, IT'S CHRISTMAS!!!! Daddy wake up!!! *Giggling as he snatches me around the waist and tickles me.* Stop, STOP!!! We have to go open presents, Daddy! *He kisses my forehead as he lets me go. Jumping off the bed, I speed from the room and back down the stairs. Kneeling on the floor in front of he tree as he slowly makes his way down. Thanking Mrs. Pierce as she meets him at the bottom, handing him a large cup of coffee. He sits down beside the tree and nods to me, letting me know that I could start.*
*Grabbing up a gift, I read the tag out loud as Mrs. Pierce and the rest of the main staff comes in to share Christmas morning with us, a tradition that Momma had started not long after her and daddy had married. Crawling back and forth between the tree and whomever the gift belonged to. The room fills with laughter and thank you's as each present is opened.* "Time for your Christmas morning picture, Aine. Go sit with Meison." *Grabbing my favorite picture of Momma off the mantle, I climb up onto daddy's lap. He scoots over in the chair and tucks me into the spot, laying the picture on his chest between us as we smile at Mrs. Pierce and she snaps the picture.* "Thank you, Mrs. Pierce." She smiles back at us, then nods her head* "Time for pancakes!"

Status: Meison's Alive

*Coming home after a long day at work, I change into fuzzy jammies, make a sandwich and curl up on the couch in front of the fireplace. Picking up the photo album from the coffee table, I start to flip through the pages. Smiling as page after page brings back more memories. Stopping at a photo that momma had taken of Daddy and I at the beach. Biting my lip, I wipe away a tear from my cheek. The sound of my phone ringing startles me. Grabbing it up, glancing at the name on the screen. My eyes go wide as I quickly answer it* Daddy?!?!? Daddy is that you? "Hello darling" Daddy...oh god, I thought I had lost you. What happened? Where are you? "Slow down, Aine. I can't answer you now. I just wanted you to know that I'm alive and safe." Why not? When are you coming home? "I don't know, darling. As soon as I can. Things are...complicated right now. I need to go. I will call again as soon as I can." Daddy, NO! "I love you, Aine" I love you too, Daddy. *Collapsing into the cushions as the line goes dead. Heartbreaking sobs tearing from my chest. After what seems like hours, I sit up and wipe my face. Standing up, I grab my phone and head out the door to the elevators. An older woman gives me a funny look as she takes in my fuzzy jammies and socks and my wet, red face. Coming to a stop at Dia's door, I knock and fidget restlessly until he opens the door. Seeing my state of dress and my face, he frowns deeply and lifts my chin* He's alive. Meison's alive.

{Answers, Blood Moon Rising} Blood Moon

* The next few weeks after the blood moon flew by. People had started their Christmas shopping, so business at the Dome had picked up considerably. There was still no word from or about my father and my heart grew more heavy each day. Dia was avoiding me every chance he got. I needed to corner him somehow. I needed to know the truth. Picking up my phone, I send him a message ~Urgent matter needing your IMMEDIATE attention. Come to Teardrops ASAP~ Letting out a deep sigh, I say quietly to myself* I really hope this works.

Dia Rivera * The phone vibrated on the wooden desk. Frowning he saw Aine name flash up on the screen. What the hell did she want? he thought. Picking up the phone he answered* What nail did you break this time, princess.

Aine Declain *Shaking my head as he calls me back* I didn't but I need your help. Please hurry! *Hanging up on him, I hope that he will show up quickly*

Dia Rivera *Entering the store he waits impatiently as she waits on a customer. Nothing looked a miss, so what the hell was her emergency. Nodding at the customers as he makes a hasty exit out he turns his attention to the female* What's the fucking 911?

Aine Declain *Rushing to the door after the customer, I flip the "Will return sign and lock the door. Pulling the shade down, I walk back to my office and turn on the security system, the glow from the uv lights filling the shop. Turning to see the look on Dia's face, I smile softly at him* I'm sorry, but we need to talk. I need to know what happened the night of the blood moon, Dia.

Dia Rivera *Shrugs* I have no idea. It was probably some reflection off one of your doo daads. *Tilting his head, wondering if she might know something* Why do you ask?

Aine Declain *Starts to pace the room, looking up at my mother's picture, whispering* I need your help, Momma. *Letting out a deep sigh, I hold out my hand to him, palm up. Holding very still, my eyes locked on my mother's*

Dia Rivera *Shifting his weight he stuffs his hands in his pocket.* Look Aine, you caught me in the middle of something. If you need a female to talk to I'll call Satora. Otherwise spit it out!

Aine Declain *Glares at him over my shoulder. Stomping around the counter, stopping in front of him. Pulling his hand from his pocket, I flip it over and smack his closed fingers* Open it. NOW!

Dia Rivera *Opening his empty hand he smirks*. If you need money come by my office. *Smiles wickedly*. Perhaps we can....

Aine Declain *Growls as my eyes lift to his* I'm not like your girls that expect payment for their...services. I only open my legs for someone that matters to me. *Looking back down at his hand, I trace my finger around looking for the barely there symbol on his palm. Scrunching my brow, not understanding what my eyes see* I can't believe...

Dia Rivera *Jerking his back* I wasn't implying you, me...and what can't you believe? Are you trying to be a palm reader and my future is hidden from your third eye?

Aine Declain *Dropping my hands to my sides, I walk back to my office and click off the security system, shaking my head* Nothing. I must have been mistaken or just really tired. I'm sorry to have bothered you. Walking over to my desk, I pull out my chair and sit. Not understanding what I had seen. Or thought I had seen*

Dia Rivera *Sitting on the corner of the desk he looks down at the female* Like I said Aine, it was probably a reflection of some kind. *Rubbing the palm of his hand the memory of the heat he felt that night still fresh* Now if you will excuse me I need to met up with some investors.

Aine Declain *Keeping my back to him, I wave him away. My mind going a hundred miles an hour trying to figure things iut. Wishing Meison was here so I could ask him for help* Daddy things are so screwed up. Where are you???

Status: Meison

*I threw another shot of bourbon down, having lost count of the number. All my mind could think about was Elizabeth. The last Christmas Eve we had spent together. Her smile, her laugh, her smell. Everything assailed my senses as though she were still in front of me, in my arms. Motherfucking Breed. I would make everyone of them pay for her death.*
