Outing: Midnight Ride

*Pulling his shirt over his head, he was happy for a rare night off. Everything was settling down, and he new he needed time with his mate. He grabbed a few of his weapons that could easily be concealed by the jeans he wore, then walked across the room.* Corinne are you ready?

  • Corinne Bishop *Pulling on her boots she stand and tucks her shirt into her jeans. Grabbing her Stetson she walks up to her mate* I am now. What's your plans for us tonight?

  • Hunter GenOne *Taking her hand, he lead her down the hall.* I thought maybe we'd go for a midnight ride. *They walked down to the stables and he made quick work of saddling the horses. He watched as Corinne placed her hand on Lily's nose and talked softly to her before she walked over to the horse he had ready for her.* Ready? *He laced his fingers together to help her up. Once in the saddle, he got up on the other horse and smiled at her*

  • Corinne Bishop *Placing her booted foot in his hand he easily lift her up. Taking the reins in hand she waits for Hunter to saddle up* So where are we going? The Lake?

  • Hunter GenOne I thought we could go down by the lake and take one of the trails. *He rode beside her in silence for a while, enjoying the company and the night. The sky was clear, with the stars shining bright. They followed the path around the lake, taking in the peacefulness.* How is Nathan? In all my evenings of patrol, I haven't been out with him, nor have a seen him lately.

  • Corinne Bishop *Sighing she shakes her head * He's not called, I can only assume that Lucan has him busy. *Turning her attention back to the trail she speaks her thoughts out loud.* I've leaned after all these years that when he is ready to share what is on his mind or the going on in his life, he will search me out.

  • Hunter GenOne I know that's hard for you sometimes, but he will come around. *He thought about himself after he got away from Dia. Until he met Corinne, he still kept his mindset as a soldier, focusing on patrols and taking out the enemy. * It will change when he meets someone, I'll be willing to bed. It happened that way for me.

  • Corinne Bishop *Feeling a twinge of jealously at the thought of Nathan finding a mate, she felt that she had, had him for such a short time and she wasn't ready to share him with another woman. But she quickly brushed that feeling aside. She as a mother wanted him to find love one day.* I only want him happy. That is all a mother can hope for.

  • Hunter GenOne *He heard the longing in her voice for all years she missed with him. For a fleeting moment, he thought about what their own son would look like, who he would be like. Shaking his head, he look at his mate* Cori, he will be. You will have many years with him, and hopefully someday grandchildren. *The moved the horses a little faster, galloping through the edge of the pond, splashing the water up.*

  • Corinne Bishop *The cool water made her shiver as it splashed up on her. Urging her horse out of the water she dismounted and sat down under the big oak. Hunter followed and sat down beside her. Settling into his embrace she watched as the horses took a look drink from the pond.* Grand Children? I can't even imagine the thought. Damn I can hardly imagine what it's like to be a mother. So much was taken from us. *Looking up into his eye* You included.

  • Hunter GenOne I never thought of it that way. *He held her close, thinking about what she said* I guess we never did talk about children did we? *He leaned his head back, his earlier thought coming back to his mind. The night was still around them, just relaxing in the quiet*

  • Corinne Bishop *Tracing his glyphs with her finger tips she knew he felt her feelings of loss and regret but she also knew he felt her deep love for him the completion that he gave her. No further comments were needed. Not only were they bonded by blood but by the losses each had suffer.*
