~Adrenaline still surged through my body as I mentally turned the shower handle all the way to the left. The water fell softly from the rain shower head, a caressing feeling compared to the beating I had allowed my body to experience. As I stepped under the gentle spray, I barely registered the scalding temperature. My body was still numb and cold from the fight in the cage. Closing my eyes and resting my head against the wall, I recounted the number of shocks that had paralyzed me while my opponent regrouped his senses. Perhaps it had been cruel to toy with him, to allow him to think that I was feeble and unable to take him out with one single blow to the head. But, I needed to feel the pain, the reminder that if I’m not stronger or faster, I would no longer be useful.~
